LAUREN MURPHY

Living and working on Kurnai land in regional Victoria, Lauren Murphy runs her studio out of a century-old newspaper building that she helped restore. Her careers as a Social Worker and Photojournalist drive her passion for social advocacy through the arts and she is known for her authentic portraiture work. Lauren is respected for her genuine exploration of the human connection and ability to capture people’s voices whether that be in business or their familiar environments. Published in various news publications and a finalist in the Australian Photography Awards (2020 & 2016 Analog category) alongside multiple high commendations (Portrait, Documentary & Analog Categories) in various years. Lauren is passionate about collaborating with not-for-profits and has also established a kids camera club supporting young people to grow their love for photography whilst exploring mental health.

“Lauren is hands-down one of the most talented, hard-working and easy-to-work-with photographers in the industry. She always delivers outstanding results and has an amazing ability to capture the true essence of an event, a performance or that special/magic moment. We have worked with Lauren for a number of years and she always delivers on time and to the highest of standards and expectations. Her passion and commitment to her art is inspiring. We can't recommend her highly enough.” - Aidan and Rhett Mc Laren (Co-Director, The Hills are Alive and New Years Eve on the Hill Festival / THAA Records)
